Ali Al-Mawlawi specializes in economic and governance reform, political economy, and electoral politics.
He has consulted extensively with international organizations operating in Iraq, including for the World Bank , GIZ , and International Organization for Migration.
Ali was head of research for Al-Bayan Center, a Baghdad-based policy center, from 2016-2020, and has published extensively on Iraq including for Chatham House, London School of Economics, and Cambridge University Press.
He holds an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
Hassan Hadad is an economist and political analyst. He is a consultant for KfW Development Bank.
Hassan is co-creator and host of the Iraqi Voices podcast. He has worked on economic reforms with UNDP (2021-2023) and the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office (2016-2018).
At the Prime Minister’s Office, Hassan was Director of Government Digital Service, the PMO’s strategic communication team (2018-2020), and previously served as senior aide to the Iraqi Minister of Defence (2015-2016).
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and an Honours degree in Political Science from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Hamzeh Hadad is a senior analyst at Iraq Horizons analysis service. He is also a visiting fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations and an adjunct fellow at the Center for a New American Security in Washington, D.C.
Hamzeh was an advisor to the president of the Trade Bank of Iraq (2021), and development officer at the German Embassy in Baghdad (2019-2020).
He holds an MA in International Affairs, specializing in International Development Policy, from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University.
